HydroGlobe is a leading supplier of innovative products and services for removal of metals from water. The company is the sole licensee of a variety of patented technologies for such uses, from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken NJ.  Founded in July, 2001 by three professors from Stevens, John Schroeder was hired in late 2001 to head the commercialization of the technologies.  Several products have been developed, including equipment based solutions to metal removal (called ActivMet and FerriMet) and an adsorbent product called MetSorb.  Commercial sales of these products have been achieved over the past few years. As a result of those successes, a group of individual investors teamed with Silicon Alley Seed Investors in mid 2003 to invest over $1.2 million in HydroGlobe, allowing it to expand it’s operations.  At this point, the company’s products can be found in consumer products, cleaning up superfund sites, and cleaning drinking water for schools and other small water systems.

In November, 2004, HydroGlobe was acquired by Graver Technologies, a company in the Marmon Water Group. The Water Group is a major supplier of water treatment devices like water softeners, commercial and municipal treatment systems, and specialty filters. They were excited by the technologies, and the market penetration of the company’s products. They have retained all  of the employees of the company, who now operate out of their Glasgow, Delaware Corporate office.
