Garden State Ethanol Corporation has firm roots in the New Jersey Farm Bureau. A partnership with the New Jersey Farm Bureau, Rutgers University, the New Jersey Grain and Forage Growers association and a core group of farmers and other agribusiness professionals led to the formation of GSE in September of 2001. The intent is the build the first Ethanol facility on the east coast.
GSE is now lead by a Board of Directors with strong farming interests across multiple states. The Boards mission is the provide farmers of New Jersey and surrounding states with an alternate market for their corn and sorghum. The plant will provide an opportunity for area producers to participate in the profits from the plant's production.
GSE has performed feasibility studies, process and site selection work leading to the development of a 40 mm gallon per year ethanol facility to be located in southern New Jersey.
