Garden State Ethanol, Inc. (GSE), formed late in 2001, has firm roots in New Jersey, including a partnership with the New Jersey Farm Bureau , Rutgers University, the New Jersey Grain and Forage Growers association and a core group of farmers and other agribusiness professionals. GSE is lead by a Board of Directors with strong farming interests across multiple states. GSE’s mission is to provide farmers of NJ and surrounding states with an alternate market for their corn and sorghum, and NJ travelers with a cleaner fuel alternative. GSE has performed feasibility studies, process and site selection work leading to the development of a 25 mm gallon per year ethanol facility to be located in southern NJ. The company recently received a $1 million grant from the state to continue the project.
